Problem: Emerald City Theatre Company employees wish to
check their e-mail from home.
Solution: The steps below will take you through how to
configure your Outlook to receive messages. These steps were taken from Microsoft
Outlook 2000, but the process for Outlook XP and Outlook Express are very
similar.
Follow these steps:
1) Click Tools -> E-mail Accounts.

OR

2) Click "Add > Mail...".

3) Follow the instructions on the Wizard. Input values for the
servers as directed below.

4) Input your e-mail address.

5) The POP3 mail server for Emerald City is "mail.emeraldcity.com".
The SMTP mail server for Emerald City is also "mail.emeraldcity.com".
Note: If you use Ameritech, Earthlink, SBCGlobal,
or a similar service, you may have to consult them for a different SMTP server.
Many ISPs have safegards put in place to prevent spam. One good resource
is at http://support.sbcglobal.net/article.php?item=4640.

6) Something unique to the Emerald City server is the username.
Normally, a server only needs the first part of the e-mail address. This
server requires the complete e-mail address with a plus sign (+) replacing
the at sign (@).

7) This screen may not always pop up, but if it does, you probably
want to connect via your LAN. Only in rare cases do you want to connect using
your modem or set up your connection manually - even if you use a modem!

8) That was easy, wasn't it? You are done! Go ahead and check your
e-mail and make sure it works. Good luck!
